Wimmer’s shrew is a rare shrew recorded in Côte d’Ivoire. A recent taxonomic study describes its dark grey coat and sparsely haired tail.
It is medium-sized, with an almost uniformly dark ash-grey coat, a brown sheen on the back, and a tail that is not densely haired.
A 2013 survey captured four individuals in Banco National Park. The park-wide survey sampled primary forest, secondary forest, and swamp, but its abstract does not say which habitat yielded this species.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
