This dark-furred macaque has flat hair on its crown and lives in forests of northern Sulawesi. It eats fruit, other plant matter, and insects.
Its coat is dark, its crown hair lies flat rather than forming a crest, and its rump is a dark brown.
It mainly eats fruit, along with young leaves, other plant parts, and insects. Observations suggest it spends much time in trees, though researchers do not know whether this is natural behavior or a response to human disturbance.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
