The Sokoke Pipit is a shy bird of coastal forests in Kenya and Tanzania, with Arabuko-Sokoke Forest as its stronghold.
It has strong black streaks on its upperparts and underparts, a rufous-tinged rump and upper tail coverts, pale feather edging, and two prominent wing-bars.
Observed birds were alone or in pairs. They walked briskly across forest leaf litter, tossing leaves aside, and were seen eating small snails; pairs used high-pitched calls to keep contact.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
