The Spectacled Spiderhunter is a large member of the sunbird family that uses forests and plantations in tropical Asia. It feeds on nectar, spiders, and insects.
The upperparts are mostly olive, greener on the back, while the paler underside is yellower on the flanks and belly. It has a prominent yellow ear-covert patch and a broad bare yellow eye-ring. Its long, broad-based bill is curved, with a reddish base.
It hovers while taking spiders from webs or nectar from flowers, and also gleans insects and spiders from leaves. It usually forages alone, sometimes in pairs, often high in trees.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
