The Long-billed Cuckoo lives in lowland forest and has a long bill with a drooping tip. Adult males have a black head, while females show fine reddish-brown barring.
Males have dark-brown upperparts, a black head, greyish-brown underparts, red eyes and eye-rings, and a long black bill with a drooping tip. Females have dark cinnamon upperparts and a dark grey-brown head; their rufous-buff breast and belly are finely barred, and a narrow cream ring edges the dark-brown eye.
It eats insects, especially caterpillars and flying ants, which it gleans from foliage, bark, or branches. The account says that breeding is poorly known.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
