The Pampas Meadowlark is a grassland bird with a short bill and tail and vivid red plumage. A study in Argentina's southern Pampas found that its use of grasslands changes between breeding and non-breeding seasons.
The Aves Argentinas account says it has a shorter bill and tail and more intense red than the similar Loica Común, with black underwing coverts.
In the Southern Pampas study, birds were more numerous in native-grass-dominated sites during breeding. Outside that period, large flocks searched grasslands for food, and the sites used changed with vegetation.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
