The Tenggara Whistler is a whistler found on Java and Bali, across the Lesser Sundas, and on islands in the Flores Sea, Indonesia.
It is 16–19 cm long. Males of the fulvotincta group, formerly treated as the Rusty-breasted Whistler, are described with a black head, a white throat edged below in black, a rusty-tinged yellow breast, and a yellow belly.
Its main reported foods are insects and spiders. The reviewed public species account is marked incomplete, so it does not support fuller claims about foraging sites or breeding.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
