It is a small cisticola of African savannas and grasslands. During breeding, males sing from exposed perches and also perform aerial courtship displays.
It is about 10–11 cm long. At Mount Moco in Angola, its tail was reported as longer than that of another cisticola observed there.
Males rise into the air, circle, and dive during their display. At Mount Moco in Angola, a display lasting several minutes was observed.
