The kowari is a small marsupial with grayish fur and a black brush on its tail. It hunts alone at night on Australia's rocky inland plains.
Its back is gray with a brown tint, while the belly and tops of the feet are pale. Dark rings surround the eyes, and black fur forms a brush along the tip and underside of the tail.
It is mainly nocturnal and forages alone for insects and small animals. It uses several burrows and may share one while resting.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
