This large pigeon lives in forests on northern Vanuatu islands and eats fruit.
It has a dark gray body, a pale blue-gray head, and a purplish-maroon breast, with a long tail and bill.
It eats fleshy fruits and berries from shrubs and native trees. It is seen alone or in pairs, and sometimes in small flocks.
