The Chestnut-tailed Starling is a small, pale starling with chestnut on the tail tips and sides near the vent.
Adults are about 18.5–20.5 cm long, with dark-tipped wings and a blue bill ending in yellow. The eastern subspecies, including birds in Hong Kong, has pale buff underparts.
It lives in trees and is seen in small groups in its main breeding area. It favors open woodland, while local diet records are scarce.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
