This white-eye occurs along northern Australia's coast, chiefly in mangroves. Breeding records from the Darwin region suggest year-round breeding, with many nests in the upper part of short mangroves.
Adults have yellow-olive upperparts and bright yellow underparts. Juveniles are greyer above and paler below. The banding guide records no plumage difference between the sexes.
Darwin-region observations found eggs in most months, suggesting no sharply limited breeding season. Many nests were in the upper third of short mangroves.
