This bat has a small, flattened head and short ears set apart. A Nicaragua field guide describes it catching insects in flight over water and forest openings, and using tree hollows and other sheltered sites as roosts.
The dorsal fur ranges from dark brown to yellowish brown, with white bases; the underside is paler. The head is small and flattened, and the short ears are set apart.
It feeds on airborne insects, including records of flying ants and beetles. It hunts above water and open forest areas, and roosts in hollow trees, fallen logs, palm leaves, or beneath house roofs.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
