The Plain-brown Woodcreeper uses the lower levels of humid forest in Peru. It forages alone or in mixed flocks and may follow army-ant swarms to catch prey flushed from cover.
About 22 cm long, it is uniformly olive-brown with little visible marking, grey-brown around the eye, and a dusky stripe below the ear.
In Amazonian humid forest it forages in the understory, following army-ant swarms, joining mixed-species flocks, or feeding alone.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
