This bat was described from Argentina in 2019. It has golden to yellow-brown fur on the back, strong contrast with the underside, and a type specimen from near Ulapes in La Rioja Province.
The back is golden to yellow-brown with darker hair bases and strong contrast with the underside. Dorsal fur is silky and about 6 mm long.
The holotype was caught near a mountain outside Ulapes in a mist net over a man-made canal that was dry at the time.
