This langur ranges from the northern Malay Peninsula through southern Thailand to Myanmar. Some sources treat it as a subspecies of P. femoralis, while a 2020 genetic study and MDD support species-level recognition.
Typical animals are dark brown to black, with white fur on the inner upper arms, lower abdomen, and inner thighs down to the heel.
Observations in lowland dipterocarp forest in Kedah recorded sitting, lying, standing, clinging, and suspensory postures.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
