A small bat restricted to Madagascar. A field survey recorded it in humid forest in the island’s east.
The guide describes soft, thick ginger fur, paler underparts, longer-than-average ears, a somewhat flattened head, and a short muzzle.
A survey in eastern Madagascar caught this bat in relatively intact humid forest and reported its strongest association with that habitat among sampled records. The authors also mention cave records, so the species is not presented as forest-obligate.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
