This medium-sized bat has light yellow-brown fur on its back and pale yellow fur underneath. The 2014 review included the Taiwanese population as a subspecies of this species.

A maternity colony in Yunlin County, Taiwan, roosted on a beam under a house eave, about 5 m above the ground. Most bats left between mid-August and early October; their hibernation sites were unknown.
