The Beautiful Fruit Dove is a small pigeon of rainforests on New Guinea and nearby islands. It plucks fruit from the ends of branches.
It is about 20 cm long. The forehead is reddish purple, the back green, and the breast blue-grey; white and reddish-purple bands separate the breast from the orange belly.
It prefers forested hills and mid-elevations and usually moves alone or in pairs. Several birds may gather at a fruiting tree.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
