This bat has a reddish-brown face and thick fur. Records are scarce, including the limited field observations from Costa Rica and Panama.
Its face and body are chestnut to reddish brown, with relatively thick fur. The description follows specimens recorded in Costa Rica and Panama.
Very few field records are available. Two bats were caught while flying low over a stream in Costa Rica; insect foraging was suggested but not confirmed.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
