Günther’s vole is distributed from Turkey through the Levant. It is recorded in meadows and on hill slopes with sparse vegetation.
The back is pinkish buff to light fawn, grizzled with black hair tips. The underside is whitish; coat color varies geographically from grayish buff to darker brownish buff.
Its staple diet consists of annual plants that grow during the rainy season. It often carries 4–5 cm pieces into underground tunnels and eats them near an exit; it is reported not to store food.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
