Franquet's epauletted fruit bat is an African fruit bat that eats fruit and flowers. White shoulder patches and the absence of a tail are distinctive.
Its coat ranges from deep orange to dark brown, with a white underside. The inner wing surfaces are pale yellow, the shoulder patches are white, and it has no tail.
It is nocturnal and eats mainly fruit, as well as flowers. By day it hangs alone or in small groups among leaves, wrapping its wings around its body.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
