The Sunda Teal is a small duck of wetlands around Indonesia and Timor. A small bump on the forehead helps distinguish it from similar teals.
Its plumage is dark gray to brown, with pale feather edges and lighter cheeks. A dark-feathered bump on the forehead is a useful field mark.
It uses freshwater wetlands as well as brackish ponds, mangroves, and coastal shallows. Seeds and other plant material are part of its diet.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
