The Tropical Shearwater dives for small fish and squid and breeds in burrows on islands. In Seychelles it has breeding sites on several islands.
It is dark above and white on the throat and belly, with short, rounded wings.
Birds returning to breeding colonies wait offshore until it is dark, then fly to their burrows. They nest in holes in the ground or under rocks and dive at sea for small fish and squid.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
