Carollia manu is a large member of its genus recorded in the mountains of southeastern Peru and northern Bolivia. Its back has long, dense fur, and collection records include lower montane forest.
The back has long, dense, fluffy fur. Individual hairs are tricolored, with a greyish-brown base, a buff-to-whitish-brown middle band, and a brown tip; the limbs are also conspicuously furred.
In Peru's Manu Biosphere Reserve, records came from lower montane forest at 1,300–2,250 m. The paper reports one Bolivian locality at 2,163 m.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
