The Striated Yuhina moves through the middle storey and undergrowth, sometimes in groups with other birds. The account also uses Staphida and notes subspecies differences in crest colour.
It has a short crest, chestnut ear-coverts and a graduated tail with broad white tips on the outer feathers. The crest is rufous in the nominate subspecies and grey in others.
It uses the middle storey, scrub and undergrowth of broadleaf evergreen or secondary forest, often moving noisily in large groups; insects are its main food.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
