Longuemare’s Sunangel is a hummingbird of the Perijá Mountains in Colombia and Venezuela. Males have a violet-red throat set off from the chest by a white band. The habitat assessment includes forest edges and secondary vegetation but says some forest is still needed.
Males have a small green forehead, black chin, violet-red throat separated from the chest by a white gorget, and bronzy-green upperparts. Females have a mottled dark throat with some violet-red feathers.
The Colombian bird atlas models forest edges and secondary vegetation within the species’ range, while indicating that some forest remains necessary.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
