The Orange-fronted Parakeet is a small parrot with an orange band across the forehead. In the wild it nests in arboreal termite mounds or cavities and eats fruit and seeds.
It is about 24 cm long. Adults of the nominate subspecies have a broad orange frontal band, a dull blue forecrown, and a pale olive throat and breast. The band and lower-bill markings differ among the three subspecies.
In the wild it eats seeds, fruits such as figs, and flowers. It excavates arboreal termite mounds for nests, and may also use old woodpecker cavities or natural fissures.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
