The Gray Dorcopsis is a lowland marsupial of southern and southeastern New Guinea. Its smoky-gray back has a yellow patch around the cloacal opening.
The back is dark smoky gray, fading to dull gray on the chest and belly. A conspicuous yellow patch surrounds the cloaca.
It occurs in primary and secondary tropical forest, often in gallery forest, and also in abandoned gardens. Cameras recorded it at Wau Creek in southern Papua New Guinea in 2016 and 2017.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
