This bat is known from limited records in southwestern Peru. Its 2014 original description reported specimens from the type locality at El Algarrobal.
The male specimen described in 2018 had soft, long fur, a light olive-brown to grayish back and a paler underside. Its ears joined on the forehead.
The type valley had sparse native vegetation, concentrated mainly along its riverbanks. This describes the specimen site.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
