A poorly known weaver restricted to lowland forest in southern Cameroon.
The male has a chestnut head and black throat patch. The female has a black hood and yellow throat; both have an olive back and yellow underparts.
It is known from lowland rainforest in southern Cameroon. Its calls have not been described, and little is known about its behaviour.
