The Chinese Penduline Tit uses open plains, sparse woodland, and reedbeds. It is a winter visitor around Dongting Lake in China.
Males have a conspicuous black band through the eye and dark chestnut feathers on the nape and sides of the neck. The underparts are buff-yellow.
It feeds mainly on insects, but also eats weed seeds, berries, and young plant shoots. It nests in broad-leaved trees such as poplars, elms, and willows.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
