The Spot-breasted Oriole ranges from southern Mexico to Costa Rica. It is marked by black breast spots and builds a long hanging nest from grasses or fine roots.
Orange-red plumage contrasts with its black throat, wings, and tail. It has white wing patches and black spots across the breast. The sexes look similar.
It searches for insects among leaves in pairs or small groups and may nip flowers to reach nectar. It builds a pouch-like nest that hangs from a tall tree or other support.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
