The Tooth-billed Pigeon is found only in Samoa and has a distinctive bill suited to opening hard fruit.
Its head and neck are glossy blackish green, the back and chestnut-coloured parts are reddish brown, and its legs are dark red. The hooked upper bill and notched lower bill are distinctive.
It lives in Samoa's primary rainforest and eats fruit. It is thought to use its distinctive bill to open large, hard-coated fruits; fruit-eating pigeons help disperse seeds in the forest.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
