This green dove lives in New Caledonia. Males have a yellow belly and white wing bars, and the birds feed on fruit in trees.
The male has leaf-green plumage on the head, back, and wings, a bright-yellow belly and undertail, white wing bars, and a black collar edged in white. The female is duller green, with less visible wing bars and no black collar.
It stays in the canopy of dense forest and mainly eats small fruits from trees. It digests the pulp and passes seeds intact, helping move them through the forest. It only enters open ground to feed in exceptional cases when forest is nearby.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
