An underground golden mole from sandy ground on South Africa's west coast. It was confirmed alive in 2023 after decades without a record.
Its back is covered in short, dense fur with bluish-grey to yellowish tones; the underside is paler.
It spends nearly all its time underground. Its tracks and tunnels collapse in sand, making it difficult to detect above ground.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
