This finch occurs along the forest–steppe ecotone of northwestern Patagonia. Males show blue-gray and chestnut, while females are gray and olive.
- Common Malacomys Malacomys longipes
The Common Malacomys has long hind feet and a tail longer than its head and body. An identification key that includes records from Rwanda's forests summarizes it as often found near water.

The minute fruit bat is a fruit-eating bat that may show pale yellow fur around the neck. Two individuals were caught along a forest trail in a protected area of Borneo.
- Southern Crag-Martin Ptyonoprogne fuligula
The Southern Crag-Martin nests on cliffs and buildings in southern Africa. It catches small insects in flight and is distributed across the region.
- Hairy-eared Akodont Thalpomys lasiotis
This small rodent occurs in the Cerrado of central Brazil. Most capture records are from open grassland, including sites with scattered low shrubs.
- Sri Lanka Frogmouth Batrachostomus moniliger
It is a nocturnal bird that sits motionless on branches, with plumage that blends into bark. It lives in lowland forests in Sri Lanka.
- Walston's Tube-nosed Bat Murina walstoni
This bat has its type locality in northeastern Cambodia, with additional specimen records from Vietnam. Its back is warm brown and its underside is white; the holotype was trapped on a dry streambed in semievergreen forest.
- Pangani Longclaw Macronyx aurantiigula
The Pangani Longclaw is 19–20 cm long. The male has a yellow-orange throat and black cheek stripes, and searches for prey while walking through grassland.

The male has a black head and breast band, a rufous nape and white underparts. The female is grey-brown, with dark streaks below. The species occurs along northern Australia's coast and feeds in mangroves and nearby rainforest.
- Silky Short-tailed Bat Carollia brevicaudum
Carollia brevicauda occurs across parts of Central and South America. A study in the Colombian Andes followed one colony that used an artificial refuge.
- Silvery Grebe Podiceps occipitalis
The southern form lives on lakes in Argentina and Chile, eating small aquatic animals.
- Barbary Macaque Macaca sylvanus
This macaque lives in the mountains of Morocco and Algeria and has a very short tail that is barely visible.
