This small bat is known from its type locality in southwestern Sumatra. Its life history is poorly known, and the description is based on one specimen.
Its dorsal fur is uniformly dark brown, while the underside is a lighter medium brown. The ears are blackish, broad, and rounded.
The only specimen was collected in secondary forest near bamboo and a small stream at 768 m. Its food is unknown.
