This small monkey has a black forehead and lives in forests of southeastern Brazil. In studied areas, it ate mainly fruit, along with leaves and flowers, and family groups of a pair and their young were reported.
The forehead and front of the face are black, while the body and tail have brown to reddish-brown fur. The account reports little difference in coat color between the sexes.
It is active by day and eats fruit, as well as leaves and flowers. Small family groups consisting of a pair and their young have been reported.
When fleshy fruit is scarce, it eats more seeds and other plant parts, travels shorter distances, and uses more of its home range.
