Wroughton’s free-tailed bat is poorly recorded in South and Southeast Asia. It is considered an open-space, high-flying forager, and a 2025 study recorded its calls in western India.
Its dorsal fur is dark chocolate brown, with a thin white border along each flank. The paper describes an average forearm length of about 64 mm.
It is described as foraging high above open areas, and is known to roost in narrow crevices. A 2025 study detected its calls near a wind farm in the northern Western Ghats, but did not visually confirm the bat or locate a roost there.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
