The blue-eared kingfisher is a small kingfisher of rivers and hill streams that hunts small fish from the water's edge.
It has a blue back, white throat and orange underparts; part of the female's lower bill is orange.
Along shaded large rivers and hill streams, it hunts fish from the bank or sandbars.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
