The Javan Blue-banded Kingfisher is a kingfisher recorded on the Indonesian island of Java. A report describes observations along rocky rivers in Central Java.
The male shown in the report has a blue band across its breast. This does not describe the plumage of every sex.
A male recorded in a Central Java survey flew upstream and downstream along a fast, rocky stream and perched briefly on a low rock. Earlier accounts also mention slower streams.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
