It is a kingfisher with a blue back, orange underparts, red eyes, and coral-colored legs. The Bangladesh account describes it fishing near streams.
The back is blue and the underparts are orange. The male has an all-black bill; part of the female's lower bill is reddish. The eyes are red and the feet are coral-colored.
It perches beside streams and dives for fish or insects. It nests in a tunnel in a bank, and the pair incubates the eggs.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
