This white-eye lives in montane forest. In 2025, a pair was observed taking nectar from flowers near a nest at Kinabalu Park, Malaysia.
It has a broad white eye-ring and smoky black forehead and lores.
In June 2025, a pair was seen taking nectar from flowers of Poikilospermum scabrinervium; an adult was brooding two chicks in a nearby nest. The authors suggest, but do not confirm, that the flowers may have been intended for the young.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
