The Far Eastern birch mouse is a small rodent with a tail much longer than its body. Records from East Asia are few, and much of its ecology remains unknown.
The back is yellowish brown with a darker middle and no clear stripes. The tail is longer than the body, and the underside is grayish yellow.
Earlier reports cited in the paper describe it as mainly nocturnal, using tree cavities and able to climb.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
