The Hispaniolan Parakeet is a green parrot native to Hispaniola. A city survey in the Dominican Republic found that records were associated with the richness of tree species.
Its plumage is bright green, with red on the wings visible in flight.
It is gregarious, eats fruits and seeds, and nests in cavities in trees or palms.
In a 2019 survey of Santo Domingo, parakeet presence was associated with tree-species richness, while encounter rates were associated with the number of small green patches.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
