A gull that searches for fish at sea and gathers to breed on UK cliffs in spring and summer.
It has a grey back, white underparts, long black legs, and a yellow bill. In flight, its black wingtips have no white.
It searches offshore for sandeels and other schooling fish. During breeding it nests in colonies on cliff ledges; along England’s River Tyne, some colonies also nest on bridges and window ledges.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
