This bat is recorded in the Colombian Andes. Its back is pale brown, with reddish-brown hairs near the lower legs and tail membrane.
The dorsal fur is pale brown to dark beige and the underside is paler. Reddish-brown hairs occur on the tibia, beside the tail membrane, and on the feet.
The revision reidentified one specimen from high-elevation cloud forest in Colombia, formerly labeled V. melissa, as V. sinchi. This is one confirmed habitat record, not evidence of a general preference.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
