A flying fox with dark brown body and wings and variable lighter fur on the head and shoulders. It lives in forests of Samoa and Fiji and is active by day.
The body and wings are dark brown. Fur on the head, neck, and shoulders ranges from blond to gray.
It mainly roosts in forests. Observations include solitary roosts and pairs with young born that year; activity is mostly by day, especially early morning and late afternoon.
