Pavan reports M. pinocchio from a few moist-forest localities in southeastern Brazil. Capture method is known for only three specimens, and all three were taken in pitfall traps. Specimen labels do not give elevations; the paper’s proposed montane pattern is an inference from locality geography.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
